Take Charge is an exciting new project from Innovate Trust, open to anyone over 25 who has a learning disability or a work-limiting health condition. The project will support participants to gain new skills, to improve their condfidence and to move towards volunteer roles and further learning by offering:

  • Outdoor conservation and gardening sessions
  • Accredited training such as Health & Safety and Emergency First Aid at work.
  • Group travel training
  • Fun confidence building activities
  • Opportunities to learn about sustainable living
  • The opportunity to plan the Innovate Trust Xmas Fayre and many more!

Volunteers will assist staff in running activities and training, providing the necessary support for individuals to fully engage and get the most out of the project. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with a varied clietn group across different contexts.

Volunteers will:

  • Be given training relevant to your role
  • You will be assigned a mentor and will receive regular supervision
  • You will volunteer in a supportive environment with other staff present
  • Your expenses will be reimbursed.

Volunteering hours can be flexible, but you will be expected to volunteer a minimum of once a month. All activities will run on weekdays between 9am and 5pm and will vary from 2 to 5 hours in duration. You will be supported to identify the right volunteering activities for you!

Volunteering opportunities are available in Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and throughout Rhondda Cynon Taff.
